Quick turn around

Postby Mackyboy » Sun Jul 10, 2011 6:51 am

Hi Guys,

Is it possible, after flying to a destination and parking at the gate, to fly back to where your came from, from the same gate or position. Just as if the aircraft has been cleaned goes again.

Sure. You just need to plan a new route in the flight planner, and once it's done, request a IFR clearance to the tower.

within aviation limits, you can do whatever you want to do that can be done in real life, in the simulator.  If that means that you want to fly your Tube from JFK to LAX gate B4, then come back to JFK and park at the same gate that you started at... do it.

if you want to get a F15 and chase the AI and pretend they are being hi-jacked (get the FSX weapons pack so that you can shoot missiles at em), you can and they'll blow up.

If you want to take Bell 206 on a sightseeing tour of Hawaii, St Maarten, St Barts, New Zealand, wherever....   do it.

You are the Captain of your craft, and you do not belong to any flying company (Delta, US Air, Lufthansa, etc) so do what you want. No one is going to ridicule you for what you do and you can not get fired.  All that we do ask, is that you take some pictures along your journey, upload em to the Screenshot server, and let us see em. If you dont want to do that, that is up to you.

So when i arrive at the gate, at my destination airport. I go back into flight planner, and plot the flight back.
but but when i load it, it treats it as if it's a different game, all the air traffic thats was there when i landed has changed and the ATC menu is all new.
is it possible to just sit at the gate for a while, and fly back in the same game without starting a new one.

After you've parked, press 'Alt' to bring up the top menu bar if it is not already there. On the top menu bar click on 'Flights' and then 'Flight Planner'. Fill out your flight plan or load one.

Now here's the 'secret' to the ai-When you click OK to load or save the flight plan you get a message asking if you want the sim to move you to the departure airport. Say NO (because you're already there) and you will be returned to your aircraft still in it's parking spot. AI aircraft should not change as the sim did not have to redraw the scenery (which it would if you had answered YES).

The ATC menu should change to provide the options necessary for the type of flight plan.

Or, if you don't want to create a flight plan, you can simply contact atc to request take off.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

I'm doing this based on memory: Could you not just load the return flight plan into your gps without going via the alt menues?
May the Mynd be with you.
So far my number of landings either passenger or pilot equal my number of takeoffs.

I don't know of any way to load a flight plan via the default gps. But then, I seldom use flight plans...

Yes, Just keep your GPS open, and contact ATC FOR VFR Departure, with Flight Following.
