Runway Frequency

Postby Mackyboy » Fri Jun 24, 2011 3:36 pm

Hi all,
In FSX, Manchester Airport has 4 runways, 6L, 6R, 24R & 24L. In the map it has frequencies & runway heading for 6L, 6R, 24R, but not 24L. So when the ATC says 24L is the runway to land on, there's no ILS frequency.
What do I do, can anyone help

cheers

you either ask for a different runway, or you shoot the "VISUAL APPROACH" .. meaning you actually look out the window to see where you are going and land anyways.

You can also utilize the 'Back Course' approach.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Then there is no reason to use Autopilot if you have to MANUALLY fly it in now, is there??

Well, yes there is. It's the same reason you can, if you wish, use the autopilot to assist with any other non-precission instrument approach.

Thanks Guy's,
But when I request another runway from ATC, they tell me to sidestep to 24L. So that means they are not transmitting 24L's frequencey. Looks like I've gotta get good and land manually.

This has been very helpful
