Seesawing on replay?

Postby Zaphod » Tue Jun 07, 2011 8:52 am

So here's another question from an FSX newbie.
When using instant replay in spot view the aircraft seesaws backwards and forwards. It seems to get worse the higher the speed of the aircraft.

Any ideas?

Zaphod.

First point: don't use the instant replay. Ever. EVER. It sucks as much as it sucked in FS9. Download and install FS Recorder instead, much more efficient :)
Second point: the problem you describe sometimes happens when the FPS limit is set to high. Try to lower it a bit.

Thanks Daube for the quick reply.
I've lowered the fps from the default 20 to 15 and no difference.
I've downloaded Fs Recorder and will check it out but I have to say that I don't have any probs with instant replay in FS9. In fact I use it all the time to check that I've spotted that landing correctly.
I'll report back when I've installed Fs Recorder.

Thanks again Daube.
Fs Recorder installed and working as advertised (well as far as replay is concerned anyway!) Will check out all the other features as and when.

Zaphod. ;)

When you have some free time, check out the recording options.
You can record yourself while you fly, and then you can replay this recording as an AI plane, which makes you able to fly next to your "recorded you" :D

Exactely... like the ghost car of your best lap in a car racing game.
Basically, if you start the recording while you're on the runway, then you take off and you land, you stop the recording (that triggers the save), and finally you play that recording as AI, then you will see an AI plane appearing on the runway, take off and follow exactely what you did... and since it's an AI plane, nothing prevents you from following it, and trying to hold a formation with it ;)

the only thing that I wish it could do, is record you flying next to your "AI" plane, then you can play that back and have 2 AI, to fly next to.  (limit 9 ai + you = 10 man formation)

You can record only one flight at a time, but you can play several recordings at a time ;)
