Maps / Airspeed

Postby kenuck » Thu May 26, 2011 12:46 pm

According to the maps help file, you simply type in the airspeed you want, thats easy done, the "difficult" part is getting the aircraft to achieve the typed in speed, I can understand silly figures not being recognised, but with the likes of modern fighters mach 1.5 would be a norm, is there a way around the planes not achieving the "dialed" in speed in maps to make them achieve the typed in speed  ??  TIA...Cheers

did you set the autopilot? Did you set the Autothrottle? Did you engage the Throttle Hold Switch??

When you use the MAP to change your speed, IT WILL NOT HOLD WHEN YOU GO BACK TO YOUR PLANE!!!! it will set your speed to that number, then as soon as you get back in the cockpit/plane you WILL slow down.

stop using the MAP as your autopilot.   in the 2-3 years ive had FSX, I have not 1 time used the map feature.
