deleting models from a pack.....

Postby gregj » Thu May 26, 2011 3:55 pm

Hey all.... just did a fresh install of fsx as I had some issues - what a pain the ass.....anyhow I am cleaning up some of the planes I have esp. where I d/l a package set like the MIG Fulcrum. Is it possible to delete from within the package all but one model and still have it work? I would like to get an experienced answer so I don't run into further issues I am trying to streamline the crap outta FSX on my computer and all these multiple models eat up HD space.

Yes :)
You should be able to simply remove any unwanted models from the file.
I have done the same thing.....there are just too many models and liveries for the MIG 29 ;)

BTW.....have you tried this package? New working gauges have been added in the VC 8-)

As a newbee, I agree there are far to many "models" in some packages, I personally have deleted lots of them after installation into FSX and have not had any problem, Ive also deleted just as many "textures" again without problems.....Cheers   ( PS..I asked in a previous post if it was feasable to delete some of the models that come with FSX, I was advised against taking this action )

yup...it's pretty good..... I like to take that model and tear up and down in all the back fjords and inlets on the west coast of Vancouver Island...with a little rain, and a little patchy fog ala REX or ORBX makes for fun and some panic in an altogether safe manner that I would not otherwise attempt in reality....well....maybe......

One major reason that I can think of for not deleting default aircraft,

May the Mynd be with you.
So far my number of landings either passenger or pilot equal my number of takeoffs.
