check that your Autopilot is not turned on by accident. This may be a cause as to why you can not use your rudder.

Yep, cheched the Auto pilot, that,s not checked...the last one I "flew" tonight was an F-15 eagle, flew beutifully, even without the rudder(s), I have noticed the nose wheel turning on those where the rudder does work but thought this was just par for the course when on the runnway, I appologize for being somewhat vague in my original post...Cheers

It would help to know which F-15 so someone can check it out.

Is the problem with steering on the ground or in the air?

lets assume autopilot has been ON recently, doesn't the wing leveller and yaw damper stay ON even if you switch autopilot OFF
May the Mynd be with you.
So far my number of landings either passenger or pilot equal my number of takeoffs.

The F 15 Eagle I refered to is the IRIS F-15, however having named this particular model I dont, ( in my limited expirience in FSX ) feel that its the actual model causing the problem, I base this statement on the fact that there are other 3rd party models that do not have the rudder control, by the same token there are some Ive downloaded that do ( this is after I turned off the auto rudder control), I "feel" again I have to say in my limited knowledge that there is a common denominator somewhere in the setup that is actually causing the problem, Im afraid I dont know what or where the "wing leveller or the yaw damper " are, so I have my fingers x,d that some of you guys out there with the expertice can steer me ( with a rudder )  in the right direction, TIA....Cheers

if you are on the ground, most airplane rudder's will NOT turn. only the nose gear will.

I have noticed in the Default FSX-747 that you MUST bump the twist grip, rudder/nose wheel steering in order to get it to hold a turn WHILE ON THE GROUND. once you are in the air, it is a total different machine - rudder control is no problem.

checking Yaw Damper and Wing Leveler.. start your flight in the default 737-800. I believe the Autopilot in that plane you can check and turn off all of the functions.  Then hop over to your F15, or other aircraft and try it out.

If you could give a list of ALL the affected 3rd party craft, someone could go through and get your planes and test them.  I have the IRIS F-15, and I have never had a problem with it at all.

From my own observations, there are loads of aircraft where the rudder will move.
But in reality if the aircraft is standing still, and has 'power assisted' nose wheel steering, it won't turn otherwise the action would rip the tyre from the wheel.
You have to have some movement before the nose wheel will change direction.
