Still no joy. I've been flying other aircraft without any problems....except the UKmil Chinook, which froze my FSX....

Actually, I'm facing the same throttle problem with another FS9 copter I recently installed in my FSX: the AW-139.

It's a beautifull copter, very detailled model and fantastic virtual cockpit, as detailled as the Super Puma from Dirk Fassbender, for those who know it. There are no display issues until you turn the lights on, then the major part of the VC will turn to a mirror...

However, when I try to start this copter, the engines would increase the throttle under a certain level, situated just below the green zone. And of course, as soon as I move the throttle command, the rotor RPM will fall down to zero.

The only solution I found was the famous "slew technique". Press Y, press F4, press Y again to release your aircraft in the air, and it will be started...

Going by FS2004 procedures here, but I imagine it is the same...

When starting, crack the throttle open a little bit. It'll assist and speed up spool-up time for the rotors.
You may also want to make sure that you don't have a switch or lever on your controls activating that is programmed to reduce "prop rpm".
You can work "prop rpm" *in this case throttle....and power *collective separately, so make sure that one is not offsetting the other.

The helicopter engine used in FS2004 and X also matters.
With a piston engine profile, you can't just start and go, or you will lose power with full collective. It's a balancing act between rpms and collective usage. Fly the default Robinson R-22 and get used to that first.
The Bell 206 should not have this characteristic.
The FSX EH-101 is known in various FS helo communities as having problems with it's flight settings, but the addon in question should not be using it's settings unless the uploader hacked it.

The rpm lever in the Lynx is set opened all the way, and I've flown the Robinson before and never noticed any difference between it and the Bell.

Hope this thread isn't dead :s

Greetings to all. :)
My symptoms are exactly the same as jinros and I think I have found the source of the problem but unfortunately not how to completely resolve it.
If you open the aircraft.cfg file in notepad and scroll down you should see this:
[GeneralEngineData]

//0=Piston, 1=Jet, 2=None, 3=Helo-Turbine, 4=Rocket, 5=Turboprop
engine_type = 5
fuel_flow_scalar = 0.83
engine.0 = -4.86, 0, 4.5,
engine.1 = -9.32, -1.54, 4.5,
engine.2 = -9.32, 1.54, 4.5,
min_throttle_limit=0.000000

Needless to say, that is incorrect. I switched engine_type to 3.

After looking around some more I also found:
[fuel]

//Longitudinal (feet), Lateral (feet), Vertical (feet), Usable(gallons), Unusable (gallons)

fuel_type = 2
number_of_tank_selectors = 1

Center1 = -2.0, 0, -1.21, 100, 2.64
Center2 = 0, 0, -1.21, 52.8, 2.64
Center3 = 0, 0, -1.21, 52.8, 2.64
Center4 = 0, 0, -1.21, 100, 2.64
electric_pump=0

Going on a hunch I changed electric_pump to 1. This fixed the switches in the VC.

After having made these changes the Lynx now sounds quite different on loading in FSX and is able to take off.
The problem however is that powering down the engine will cause the original problem to return, and the engine actually has TOO MUCH power :s

I'm hoping that someone with a functional copy could post the contents of their aircraft.cfg file to see if that will fix the issue.

One option that you might try which is a work around if you are familiar with HoverCraft simulations helicopters. Start at any airport with the helicopter in question. Then select the default bell - which will start with engines running, the change aircraft again. It should start with the engines running and fully flyable.
