I don't even know how to alter my default start-up flight...

By saving another flight in it's place.

Just tried it -- the one on this page
http://www.simviation.com/simviation/in ... 65&page=12

It works fine for me (needs to be left to 'warm up') but other than that it takes off and flies 100% fine

Shane's solution above may be the answer

I haven't altered my default flight. How long did you wait for the engines to warm up?

About 1 minute. It's quite common in FS helos .... (& you also wait for warm up in real life)

To eliminate the 'default flight' aspect -- try this

Go to any airport - on the ground -- change a/c to the b206. Take off & land. Then when on the ground with engines running change aircraft to the Lynx.

Does it work if you do that? If so then we can narrow in on what is causing the problem.

Something very odd here. I tried both the original FS9 version & the FSX update. Both appear to work fine for me straight 'out of the box'.

I find it impossible to land without crashing. I've never been any good with helicopters so that's not surprising.

PS. I have FSX Deluxe + Acceleration.

FSX Deluxe + Acceleration.

May well be the difference -- if so I will edit the description to say 'FSX Acceleration'

Ugh....I feel like the only gamer on the planet that DOESNT have Acceleration, and every bloody download is specifically for Acceleration....

It's possible but I'm not convinced that Acceleration has anything to do with it. This is an FS9 helicopter, not one specifically designed for FSX. I'm almost tempted to uninstall Acceleration to confirm it either way. I did say almost.

Both work fine for me now that I've got the fuel switched back on from my saved flight.  :-[   :D

I'll have one dose of my own medicine please!  ;D ;)

The fuel pump switch on mine is stuck in the off position as well, but I haven't changed my default flight.

You could try the old trick. Rename fsx.cfg to back it up & restart FSX.

Reset the fsx.cfg file and it still doesn't work.

More details: when I switch views, I hear the turbines spool up each and every time I change to a different view. When I add power, I hear the turbines rev up, but the rotors slow down.

Ok, if this solution doesn't work,

then I'm at a complete loss as to what the problem is here.

Start a flight in the default Cessna C-172,
