removed fsx and on reinstall get a processor error

The error stoppnig the install comes right at the end (98%) of disk 2, and is a processor nul x86 error? anyone seen this before?
Core 2 Duo E8500 3gb, Gigabyte S-Series mainboard, Sapphire HD5870 Vapor X

If you have not fixed this already - Did you delete the old version using the uninstall  or uninstall in Control Panel in Windows?

You should reinstall using as clean a PC as possible.
