BN-2 Islander

Postby Shakey634 » Sun Apr 10, 2011 8:30 am

I have the BN-2 Islander from Flight1 and like flying it a lot. The GPS takes some getting used to as it is quite different from the FSX one. Question i have is you can open the dorrs with the shift+e command but the other doors will not open with the coomands in the manual. Maybe i am missing something. Here are the commands from the manual.

I don't have the F1 Islander but those are the default door open/close command, just maybe poorly worded.

Hold down the Shift and press E (shift+E). Release both and then press the number(s) required (top row numbers, not the num-pad). Examples:

(shift+E) to open/close #1 door.
(shift+E) then 2 to open #2 door.

You can do multiples-

(shift+E) then 1 then 2 then 3 will open/close all 3 doors.

To toggle the pilot figure. hold down the Ctrl key and press W.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

(Ctrl+W) is the default assignment for 'Water Rudder up/down', so I'm guessing they have mapped it to toggle the pilot. Check your Control-Assignments and check that 'Water Rudder up/down' is set to (Ctrl+W)

If you can't get it to work you might post your problem at the Flight1 support forum. http://www.simforums.com/forums/forums.html
