ATC at smaller airports.

Most of the smaller default airports don't have ATC and I want to know if there's a programme available to change this?. Thanks.

Welcome to SimV,

Most small airports do not provide ATC. Pilots at or near the airport communicate their intentions to other pilots (and the ground if anyone is listening) over the assigned UNICOM/CTAF freq..

To add ATC: If you have the FSX SDK installed you can use Airport Design Eitor (ADE9x) to add comm. freqs. for ATC. Adding a Tower comm. freq. will give you basic services.

Download ADE9x here: http://www.airportdesigneditor.co.uk/index.html

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

I figured that. It's just that 3 airports I've been to actually have ATC but not in FSX so I just wanted to change that.
I've downloaded the programme you suggested and thanks a bunch. I'll let you know how it works out.

Don't get discouraged, it happens..   :)

Did ADEX compile the .bgl file?  If so, did you place the .bgl file in the scenery sub-folder of an active Scenery Area folder? ..Example: the ...\Addon Scenery\scenery\ folder.

I bought the scenery called "South African Small Airports" and installed it. On the advice of members I downloaded Airport Design Editor but I'm not up to speed on how to use it efffectively. I tried but couldn't get the result I wanted. My range extends as far as downloading planes and scenery, I'm not what you'd call computer literate. That comes with being born in the 50's I guess, lol. I found it here Dave.
