Rebooting?

Read that its wise to reboot computer between each add-on installed. This to avoid any problems with sceneries and error in FSX. Is this really necessary?

And is it necessary or wise to also start up fsx? and what about doing a free flight?

Hi there. I can't think of a reason to reboot the PC after installing addons to FSX or any other version of MSFS.

And is it necessary or wise to also start up fsx? and what about doing a free flight

I always exit FS before installing addons. Install them one at a time & check them out in the sim before adding another one.

It is not necessary to reboot the computer when installing FS addons. The only thing you need is to exit FSX before you install anything.

When it comes to FSX installation, it is indeed recommended to start FSX once for every step, that means once between installation and SP1, then once between SP1 and SP2. You won't need to reboot your computer.
