Shift U for launch bar, then shift I, but yoiu need to be positined correclty for it to activat corrcectly. It takes a little bit of messing around to find the correct spot fpr each plane. When you hit shift I, you should hear the rear deflector go up, and the plane may move slightly as the launch shuttle is activated. Then you throttle up and hit shift space, and you should hear the catapult in operatio,

Hope that helps

Go to external view before you put the launch bar down, rear view maybe easier, i use side or rear.
Taxi to the catapult, look at the catapult, you will see a 'wedge' shape in the channel for the cat mechanism, line up with this then put your launch bar down as you cannot turn with it down.
Using external view, taxi until the launch bar is just, but only just in front of the wedge, your wheel behind it and press shift+I.

Then as already mentioned, throttle up and press Shift+space.

Works fine: now if only I could land on it, seems harder than others to land on.

regards

May the Mynd be with you.
So far my number of landings either passenger or pilot equal my number of takeoffs.

Do you attach to the catapult using "Shift+I"?

That would probably help. LOL Thanks. :-[

No problem :)
I had Acceleration for a long time before I realized that I didn't need to use ArrCab anymore ::)

This is a great addon!  I have been flying it for a couple days.  The detail is amazing.  FYI, don't try and park your plane in the lower level hanger on the USS Nimitz, it doesn't turn out well.  You can ride the elevator all day but the hanger will get you every time.

I also noticed saving is an issue.  I saved a flight and returned to find my plane in the water.  Maybe an error in my part, its happened a couple times.

I can't get the SHIFT+I to work on any of the carriers. >:( I've tried all launches. No mater where I put the aircraft, the launch system never engages.

Also, landing is more like crashing. While I stop immediately and stay on the deck. the aircraft bounces all over with sparks and such. Thankfully I have crash detection off, otherwise it would be a wreck. Grrrrrrr.

I finally figured it out. I had to map the keyboard commands.  ;)

I can't land on that thing for beans. Now no matter how slow I go, or where I get the tail hook at, or how smooth I make it, the aircraft bounces like a basket ball, nose dives into the carrier then bounces off the end. Grrrrrrrrrrrr. I guess us Air Force guys shouldn't be trying to land on a ship. >:(

It's not easy........If you are not straight the plane tends to do strange things when it grabs the cable. Keep trying. What aircraft are you flying? :)

The default F/A-18 that comes with the Acceleration pack. :-/

I've done my best to get it lined up right, but since mapping the keys to launch it refuses to catch the cables. :'( There is no landing on a carrier for me. Nothing I do now will catch the cables or smoothly land. It just bounces hard, rolls upside down, flips around like a dolphin on crack that just got speared. And since the carrier doesn't exist there is no using replay to see just where I'm going wrong. Guess I'll just uninstall this and not use it.  :'(

I'm sure you have flaps down, tailhook gear etc, try the airbrake occasionally and keep your speed to about 150kts.
Aim for the middle wire. Usually requires you slam it down on the deck just like Real life (from what i've heard)

If you can't land at all press Y and slew onto the deck and try take offs :)

btw i originally used the XLoad F-18 and switched to the VRS F/A-18F. Forgot to change.

If I'm going 150, I'm not flying, I'm dropping like a stone. In order to keep any decent flight and not just fall into the water I have to keep it above 190. At about 170 it starts falling so fast I usually end up having to point it straight up and go full afterburner just to pick up enough altitude to try and make it on the deck. Heck, even at 225 the aircraft has a tendency to want to dive. I even try increasing my trim to level flight at about 200 and at 175 I still drop like a rock.
