FSX Addon Carriers

I'm looking to get an aircraft carrier that I can land on. Which one is the best addon for this? ;)

This (top of page): http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1 ... &x=11&y=13
And also grab the fourth one down on the same page (high detail carriers) This works with AI carriers and provides better more detailed carriers for the AI carrier program. You must have Acceleration though :)

Acceleration is part of the "Gold" edition of FSX.  ;D

I got those DL though I had some trouble getting them. Now to install them. I can't wait to try them out. I've been disappointed by some of the aircraft though. But I also DL that new Citation X. Can't wait to check that out, it looks sweet. :D

Sir Puma,

Thanks for asking this question.  I was about to post the same thing!  Have you got a chance to download them yet?  I am very interested in your feedback.  I found there is two carriers off the coast of San Francisco that I have landed at.  None of them come with AI though.

Can anyone help?  I downloaded the above files.  The Nimitz carrier and the application aircarriers2.  I got all the way to the point where it says I should see a file under the "add-ons"  I don't know where that is, or it didn't install.  I put the boat files in the sim objects files, as well as the sound and effects.  I copied the cvn_68_69.cfg into 'conf.d' file as requested.  When I start the java application nothing appears.

Any idea's?

Right click show menu bar. Look for add ons. Scroll down to AI ships or whatever it's called.

Thanks Dave!

It worked.  I made several attempts to land on the Nemitz and either I didn't catch a wire or the cables arn't simulated.  Anyone know?  Either way they are great adds!

Thanks again for your help.

Hi,

Did you put your Arrester Hook Down? On the Acceleration F18 it's lowerd by using Shift +Q or you can use the in cockpit control lever.

Check on your external view for the hook being down.

Hook works fine on the default carrier, not tried the Nimitz yet tho it is installed, just about to do my 5 landings to qualify for carrier.

regards

Steve.
May the Mynd be with you.
So far my number of landings either passenger or pilot equal my number of takeoffs.

I've played with the Nimitz a few times and made some successful landings thanks to not having crash detection on. LOL. Tail hook down and try and catch the cables. Sadly I keep running people over. LOL. I need to figure out how to land right. 8-)

They definitely are cool and I like that I can put the ship into motion which helps with landings. I'm not so sure about launching. I put the aircraft where it should go and put down the launch bar, but the carrier doesn't exactly launch me. I just take off, though I must admit it seems to take off a bit faster than on a regular runway.

Do you attach to the catapult using "Shift+I"?
