American Airlines Boeing 777-300ER Help

Postby kinkyflyer » Tue Dec 28, 2010 8:17 pm

I am having a problem. As you can see the title of the topic. Theirs a problem with the plane. I have installed the plane right but I have no sound. Now in the read me text it says this... I copied and pasted this. (Install FSX:

1.    Unzip the file to the 'FS Root\SimObjects\Airplane' directory.
2.    Move the files contained with 777-effects to 'FS Root\Effects'
3.    Move the alternate Aircraft.cfg, Panel & Sounds folders in the included
    '\FSX' folder
into the main aircraft folder overwriting the originals.)

Now step one I have done correctly but steps 2 and 3 I am lost. I can't find a effects folder with this plane and step 3 I don't understand at all

If you tell us which model and where you got it, it would be easier to help :)

Right, knowing what model and where you got it from would help. But I'd assume its the posky 773.

Step 2. in the file folders of the 773 you downloaded, there should be an "effects" folder somewhere. Once you find that folder, open it and copy all the effects files to your main FSX effects folder. If there is no effects folder, you may need to try another model. However pretty much all posky aircraft use the same effects, so if you have any other posky models installed, you should be all good.

Step 3. There should be separate panels and aircraft.cfg's made for FSX located in that 773 download. If there is not, you need to get another model. If you do find them, simply replace the existing panel and aircraft.cfg's with the FSX versions.

For your sound, you can search around for a GE-90 soundset, as that is the best way to go for realism. There are plenty out there, so just search.

ok I found the file and installed it. I now have engine noise but its kinda not really that realistic. and now some settings have changed on the plane to... f6 and f7 no longer expand and retract flaps, and ctrl shift f1 no longer shuts down the engines. and plus on that the engine shutdown noise is not that good. do you have any other sound recommendation files?
