FSX Error Msg:"The Instruction at "0x20c6a07e" referenced .....

Postby Bob in Tucson » Fri Dec 24, 2010 9:46 pm

Hello, I just did a re-install of FSX and during a short flight the program stopped and displayed this error alert: "The Instruction at "0x20c6a07e" referenced memory at "0x0f8357c4" The memory could not be "read".
Perhaps the program is looking for something that isn't there or the file is corrupt? I've done searches trying to find these files but cannot. ...

Can you repeat the error Bob? If you can, swap your memory sticks and see if it still occurs or if it changes.

The error is saying it cannot READ memory, not find it or that the data is bad.

Lot's of things could cause this including a corrupt file, bad HDD sectors, bad memory.

What are your system specs? Probably should run Memtest to check your memory - however - if you have an I7 - you need to check the sticks one at a time not all together. Look at your mobo manual and put each stick in the first accessed slot and test.

Good luck,

Vic
