Cupling FSX to G.Earth

Postby nichos » Sun Oct 31, 2010 2:17 pm

I downloaded FSXGET & installed it & " FSX Google Earth Tracker" went to C:/Program Files.

I executed fsxget, loaded FSX & G.Earth (5.2.1.1588)

The User aircraft yellow square appeared on the ranway, but when airbourn & flying it just stays put there, does not follow the flight tracks.

Is there anything else to do to get it to work & follow?

MODIFY:- I use XPhome, fast CPU+4gb ram & just noticed when I restarted GEarth an error saying
"FSXGET encountered a problem & it shut down"

Have you tried Plan-G?  It interfaces with Google Maps
and works well as a Moving Map and Flight Planner.

Disregard last post, wrong NetFrame version went in.

With 3.5 SP1 version it worked.

What a fantastic program for mooving map on second screen.

BUT, where can I find instructions on how to use all the fanctions in it??

Thanks a lot
Nick

You will find a PDF Manual in the Plan-G folder.  Its a brilliant addon. 8-)

Thanx again,

do you know if FSX autopilot can be locked on a PlaG flight plangan?

Tried LOCK & SYNCH & NAV in fsx with no luck

The Plan-G Lock and Sync refers to the positioning of the Aircraft Icon on the Plan-G Map, if you put your mouse over lock and Sync it will give you an indication of what it does.
To have Plan-G and FSX follow the same indicated flight path you need to have the same Flight Plan loaded both in Plan-G and FSX.

Thanx Trollen,
it certainly helped & discovered by programing my free FMS too rhe autopilot couples too.

Only, when cleared to land & I disconnect PG, come off GPS & select APP(roach) I cannot get the the ILS to kick in necessitating manual ILS.

No need to disconect PG.  As long as your approach is at the right angle and below the GS, GPS/Nav switch to Nav and have ILS frequency on Nav 1, you should have no problem capturing LOC and GS.

but thst's just what I was doing but their is no glide slope & does not couple.

Then tried S.off the GP with same results.

Must be doing something else wrong.
