Problem with FSX default missions

This is getting annoying - on SOME of the default missions, not all - I select the mission - the info screen loads with maps, instructions etc and I click FLY.

Now, in MOST of the missions, the missions starts, I hear music, see the text, etc and all is well - if I hit ESC - I get a screen that says "End Mission?"

My problem is that SOME of the missions, after I press FLY from the info screen - doesn't actually load the "mission" but just loads the flight related to it. I get to the correct airport in the correct aircraft but no music, no text, no instructions - nada. If I hit ESC, I get "End Flight?" screen not "End Mission?" screen.

Any idea why this happens and how to correct it? I'm not about to reinstall FSX just for a few missins but I'd like to understand what would cause the mission not to load.

I don't really know, but I think with some missions you don't get any text until you're flying.
For example the Denali mission has this problem if I'm not mistaken.
