hello:

dl a turkish airlines a321 textures but the caption under the title  says for use with the default of the fsx airbus a321. ok 2 questions came to mind 1) how I'm I suppose load textures does it goes under aircraft or textures folder I'm not too good with this yet.

2)how do I apply the turkish textures to the default air bus a321 in fsx?

someone needs to explain this to me real good I do not under stand how to put the textures I downloaded onto the default airplane a321. let alone where the textures are suppose to go after dl. all I did was to do what I normally would for the aircraft I downloaded and apply that  info to the turkish textures.  well I goofed

Open your FSX aircraft folder. (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes) Open your downloaded texture. Copy the folder named "texture.XXX" from the download over to the A321 folder in the Airplanes folder. Now, open the text file from the download called readme. (unless there is a text file called installation, aircraft, cfg entry, etc) Find the section of the text file in which there appears to be a bunch of settings. (should begin with "[fltsim.x]") Copy from the [fltsim.x] header all the way down to the end of the description "setting." (Should end with this: "control system used in an airliner, and sidestick controllers.") Now, in the A321 folder where you copied the texture folder to, open the file called "aircraft.cfg" in notepad and scroll down to the end of the last [fltsim.x] entry. Paste the text you copied from the readme after this. Now, look at the [fltsim.x] entry above this one. If the number after the "." is 5, then change the X from the [fltsim.x] entry you just pasted in to a 6. (It will always be this way. Each entry increases by one number.)

I hope this is clear enough. Also, you might want to back up your aircraft.cfg from the A321 before modifying it.  ;)

I performed the above steps but I am not able to save the new aircraft.cfg file.  I am the administrator, but I get a message saying it can't save the file.  The pathway is the original, I didn't make any changes to the directory.

Why am I unable to save an aircraft.cfg file?

Because you OS is probably Vista or Window 7.

Copy the aircraft.cfg file to your desktop. (Right click the aircraft.cfg, select "copy".  Minimize all active windows  so you have the desktop, then "right click" and select "paste".

Open the aircraft.cfg, add the [fltsim.X] section rom the installation instructions, change the "X" to the next number in the [fltsim.X] sequence, save and close.

"Right click" that aircraft.cfg file, and select "Copy", then open or restore the A321 folder and "Right click" on the A321 folder, and slect "Paste".

It will ask if you want to overwrite, select "Copy and replace".  You will probably be asked if you started the action, say "yes", or "continue", to any other obnoxious security "safeguards".

That should do it.
