Install it into your fsx aircraft folder just as you would any other addon aircraft. one reason why fs2004 planes dont show up in fsx is because of the panel. Most planes from Posky are for fs2004, and therefore the panels are aliased to the default 747 that is in fs2004. What you would need to do is alias the panel to the fsx 747-400. You will likely have to change the sound as well, unless it comes with a custom sound already.

[fltsim]
alias=b747_400\panel

try it as; alias=b747-400\panel

thinking it shouldnt have an underscore. i looked at mine, and it looks like I made a copy of the default fsx 747-400 panel.cfg and used it in place of the one that is given.

**nevermind** that probably wont make any difference. it should atleast show up with what you have. so, is the plane not listed in your list of aircraft to choose when you want to do a freeflight? lets start from the beginning.

Well, now i can pick the plane, but it doesn't show up in the preview box. There isn't a plane there.

sounds like possibly a texture issue then. did it come with more than one texture folder? i cant quite remember. like one for base textures, and another for the dreamlifter specifically?

hmmm. not too sure then. trying to download it again to take a better look myself and compare to the one I already have. problem is, the downloads from posky are extremely slow right now for some reason.

Ok, so I just downloaded it again. when i first open the main folder, I get 2 more folders and a readme file.

747-effects
OSB744LCF_BOE_N780BA
readme

Then when you open the OSB744LCF_BOE_N780BA file, there is the model, panel, sound, texture, air, and cfg files. The panel.cfg is the same as what I have already. So...Is this the folder you put into your main fsx aircraft folder?
