Boeing 737-800 Virtual Cockpit

Postby Caspian » Fri Aug 20, 2010 12:15 pm

The virtual cockpits in FSX have always been extremely blurry on my computer - some of the controls you could just about make out, but any text was unreadable - unrecognisable as text, even.

I recently downloaded Andrew McGowin's FSX 737 Aircraft Texture Fix from here: http://flightsim.com/kdl.php?fid=137011 and couldn't believe the difference! This is what my virtual cockpit in the 737-800 now looks like:

I'm wondering what other people's virtual cockpits look like? Are they very blurry, or are they like mine is after having installed the add-on?

I searched and searched, but couldn't find an add-on for the 747. Shame.

Please do not link images, it slows the forums down for other users!
Also the VC's tend to be less accurate than the 2d cockpits...

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Sorry, won't do it again. Makes up for the lack of one in my signature though  ;D just kidding.

Less detailed - well yes, but to the point of not really being able to see much? And the add-on that I downloaded really improved it to no end - surely it wouldn't have hurt Microsoft to do the same.

Do you have Global Texture Res set to Very High?  If not, then thats the reason your getting blurry VCs.

Yep, it's set to high. I don't think that's the problem, as the add-on fixes it perfectly.

Mmm... I wonder what the problem is. :-?

Anyhow, here is a texture fix for the 747 VC, http://www.simviation.com/simviation/?I ... 6349  I all-of-a-sudden remembered seeing this a long time ago and decided to go looking for it.

Thanks very much, it's made a huge difference!! I took a couple of screenshots to show the difference:

Honestly, I'm more bothered by the oversized signature images that require "scrolling" to see in their entirety...
