stupid question of the day ( WideFS or Sim connect )

hey guys

was just wondering.. to enjoy the client software suchs as FS commander ect on a different computer, using wide fs or simconnect, would you have to have fsx installed on the client computer as well ??

or how excatly does this work, did some research but i came up short.

so could someone please give me a guide for dummies to how to utilise network connection for add ons.
