Flight Simulator X Was Botched From The Start

Reasons:

-Performance problems/Poor optimizations

-Lack of good freeware aircraft

-Crashes

FSX has always had these problems. This is why it sucks so much. Because it was an unfinished game released by MS with little to no support thereafter. I for one am glad ACES is gone because who knows what crap they would have put out after FSX.

Your doing it wrong. And as Nick says, its not FSX, its your computer.

Lack of good freeware? Are you kidding me? We have stuff that all the FS9 guys drool over.
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

No, Microsoft did it wrong. There are over 9000 problems with the damn game. From random crashes to compatibility issues. And no, it's not my computer, it's Microsoft's fault for making such a poorly optimized game. You can tell FSX was a rushed product and turned out crap because of it.

The freeware community is crap and there are very few have decent freeware planes with decent VC's.

Nobodies hacked my account. It's just the truth. Hell, if you want the game to even work right you have to tweak about 100,000 different things.

Hacking an account to post stupid things is not tolerable.
I hope a moderator comes and repair this situation as soon as possible.

Everybody is entitled to an opinion, even if it IS wrong and stupid.

Easiest solution for USApat - don't use FSX and stop your whining because it isn't going to get fixed.

The only real complaint I have about FSX is the limitations that are the fault of my own computer. Other than that, I have a blast with it.

usapatriot, there is nothing wrong with FSX. Your computer just can't handle it, or you don't have it set up to. Sure FSX is not perfect, but it doesn't have enough wrong that should make you come on here and rant about it being crap. It's not! Your post was unnecessary. We all have our opinions, but I feel you went a little overboard.

I'm running FSX on MUCH less then that and I've had no issues. I bet the OP getting 30fps and mad cause he can't get 60 fps...

As far as the freeware issue.. he just hasn't looked, ever. Maybe he should try downloading something THEN commenting on it...

And the crashes have been an issue for some, but I haven't had an issue for many many months.

When I read through the FS9 board I see similar posts about crashing and nearly all of the same problems I see on the FSX board. My FSX Acceleration runs fine. Why? Because I keep my machine tuned. I do the work required for a medium range machine.
How many aircraft does one need in thier hanger? FSX

Well let's admit it, FSX does take some tweaking to make it run well. You need one thing when setting up FSX: Patience! (Money helps too though.) ;)

The FS9 freeware community is big because it has had 7 years to grow, and the graphical leap from FS8 to FS9 wasn't quite as big as the leap from FS9 to FSX. So naturally, more people were able to switch from FS8 to FS9 after it was released than after FSX was released. More users=more addons. However, FSX still has plenty of great freeware aircraft!

FSX was ahead of its time when it was released, but technology is catching up. ;)
