Hi

I changed the setting but i still don't work very good. I see some things but i don't stay in the right screen

This is me panel.cfg mabye somebody see's a fault

I do see a problem with the gauges you changed, tho they are the ones I listed above, you removed the # coordinates for where the gauges go. Have a look at my config on the first page and add in the missing ones.

Yours looks like this;
gauge22=B737_800!MFD

it should be something like this;
gauge23=Boeing777-300!MFD,274,255

*Note*, this is just an example, and not the actual gauge and coordinates. Just giving you an idea of what the problem is. The bold and italic #s is what your missing.

I changed the panel.cfg but i still don't see working all the screens.
I have made a picture but i don't know where he is know :o

Hey folks,
I am not a complete newbie at this but I don't know much about aircraft design, VCs etc.

I feel you pain with the POSky 777-200.  I wanted the gauges working, but I gave up because something in the instructions deleted my 737-800s from the aircraft list in FSX.  I got the Soar 777-300 working.  Just wonder if it would be possible to use the American Air 777-200's texture on the Soar 777-300 model.

Its very hard to figure out why someones setup doesnt work unless you are there on the comp looking at it, so Its kind of a trial and error kind of thing. Had Posky made it so the vc was already part of the model, alot of confusion could have been avoided. There are just so many variables involved. I'd suggest just reading through the pages of this thread and see what people have done, and see what works. There is also a small writeup on how and what to install to get your vc going. Have patience, it can and will work.

As for the AA texture, that was likely made for the Posky 777... so it wont work on anything but that 777. I dont know what, or why some of your gauges got deleted, nothing in my writeup has you deleting anything.
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

OK so now I am even more confused - I had the brilliant (or so I thought) idea of simply moving the entire b777_300 across from FS9 into FSX.

OK - I understand,

I am ashamed to say that I am new to Simviation and had not realized how many posts there had been on this topic - only just spotted the number of pages - duh.

Gonna start from the top - I have some reading to do!

Thanks for your patience!

No worries, we have all been in the same situation. Now that I've had some free time, I found a quick install guide I helped another guy with.

Well, first of all, decide which one you want. Wheather it be the british airways model, or the continental model. You decide.

Next, you will need to download one of the models. they are listed in sort of a confusing way so you will need to pay attention. I know you want the vc, so you will need to choose a model that has vc at the end of the title.

this is the one I used; OS772V2_GE90--L_VC model

THen, go to the panel section and download the vc panel sp1, and either of the texture files. THe 32 bit is if you have a pretty good computer with a good graphics card.

One you have all those, start arranging them into one main folder just like the default planes. You should have one folder that says the plane, like "posky 777 continental" This will have all the basics in it. Start putting the other parts in that folder like the panel. It will ask you to overwrite the original, say yes. And just do that for the other things. If you need reference, just look in the folder of a default plane to get an idea where things go. Once you get that sorted, give it a try and see if it shows in the sim. If it does, cool. Go and follow my instructions on getting the vc gauges working, and you will be all set.

Oh, and to top it off... I also download a realistic soundset for my planes. There are several good ones over at avsim for the GE90 for example. Just adds a bit more realism

*There have been some revisions since I posted those instructions before... so just get the latest files listed for whatever is needed.

This is confusing. I've got the guages working, but there's no VC. And looking at the POSKY website, under the "model packages", not only do I see nothing regarding VC or Virtual Cockpit, but I can't understand the technobabble titles of "SP2A>PW4000 (OS772V2_PW4000)"

In addition, the Readme file that came with the plane I downloaded (Korean Air 777) did not say ANYTHING about installation instructions. It just said who made it and who to contact if you had problems.

Can only one 777 file be used?  Is it possible to download multiple textures for a single model?  For example, if I get one of my 777s working, will it be possible to just copy a texture folder from another 777?

I followed the directions of downloading a model (North America - United Airlines 777-200), Panel files (Virtual VC 32-bit and VC Panel SP2A), and I have placed them in one folder.  I've also followed the readme instructions of copying and pasting the 777-effects and the files of the FSX folder that came with the model.  I can load the jet into FSX and view it from outside.  However I have no VC whatsoever and the 2D only looks straight forward.

Is the tutorial on the first page for the 777-200 or 777-300?  I have downloaded the 777-300 linked in the first post and they work great.

*Edit*
I copied the .gau from the 777-300 panel folder and changed the text for panel.cfg for the 777-200.  I have some gauges working in the 2-D, like Attitude, but the panel to the right (VFR/IFR?) is not there.

Is the VC model different from the 32-bit VC and VC Panel SP2A?

you need to go to the model section and download the corresponding model to the paint. so for the 777-200 that you downloaded you need the "VC>SP2A_PW4000 (OS772V2_PW4000_VC)" model from the model section of the 777-200 downloads ;)
