There's no problem there. It's just that not all of the available FS planes have a virtual cockpit. I'd say that only 5%, or even less, of the freeware planes have a virtual cockpit. Most of the planes only have a 2D panel.
A lot higher than that for full aircraft --- at least at this site -- just look out for the description --
if it contains a VC it nearly always says that in the description.
That's only for FSX. I was speaking about the whole FS history, including all the versions that were "VC-relevant", that is FS8, FS9 and FSX.
In FS8 and FS9 downloads, most of the time the description was concerning the history of the real aircraft instead of describing the features offered by the plane.
Fortunately we had some download websites that were allowing the user to take a look at some files inside the archive, for example flightsim.com, where you could check the screenshots or the panel.cfg to see if any [VCockpit] section was there.
Back in time, the user could also rely on some names to guess if an aircraft had a virtual cockpit or not. For example, if you could see "Kazunorito Ito" or "Mike Stone" in the description, you knew there was only a 2D panel, and if you would see "Tim Conrad", you knew there was one.
That brings back some remembrance. All those downloads on my poor 56k modem.... all those hours waiting for a download to complete, sometimes with happy end, sometimes with huge dissapointments... (where's the smiley that smiles AND cries ? ) :')
