about the Maule

Postby RickG » Thu Mar 18, 2010 6:40 pm

Hi. I've been playing with the Maule lately, and noticed on the radio stack that there's no area to dial in an NDB frequency. I've tried every view combo I can think of, to no avail. Anybody know the trick?
Also, I noticed that you can raise the flaps up one notch from zero, which I've not noticed on any other planes. The learning center in sim calls that cruise flaps, but that's about all I could find out. Anyone know where I could get more info on that?  Thanks.  Rick

I'm pretty sure that the 2-D radio pop-up has the ADF reciever..

The "negative" flap setting is called

There is no ADF radio, and no RMI. You could add the radio to the radio pop-up but you would also have to add or substitute an RMI to the 2-d panel (or make a pop up).

For the vc, as is typical, there is no place to add new gauges. You can substitute a dual needle rmi (example: Beech_Baron!RMI) for the vor2 gauge.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Thanks for the info guys.  So when I do fly that beast and get to my cruise altitude, I raise the flaps to that reflex position and then re trim. I have been doing well in level flight without doing that, but I assume that's just because of my trim settings--??   Too bad about the non-ndb feature, but oh well.  Thanks again.
