Okay, so......

I found this "Top Gun" music file on the main download site, and it says "Top Gun music file for FSX".  Problem is - it doesn't tell me where to put it, or how to make it play in the menu (I assume that's what it's there for, to replace the default menu music, or something of that nature), but it would've been nice to have some type of instructions.  Any suggestions?

As long as it is a .wav file just place it in the FSX ..\Sound\UIMusic\ folder and it will show in the Settings>Sound>'player user-interface music' selection list.

No need to rename or replace an existing file.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
