Airport Updates

Postby fsx1234 » Thu Feb 25, 2010 10:54 pm

Does anyone know how airport data can be updated in FSX.  For example several airports in my area have changed names (FAA identifiers, IATA/ICAO codes), added approaches, even new runways.  I am trying to fly certain approaches that are not showing up in the FSX system.  I would appreciate any help.

I'm not sure but isn't it possible with the FSX SDK (that comes with FSX gold/deluxe)???

Welcome to SimV,

If you have the SDK installed (requires FSX Deluxe or Gold), then Airport Design Editor (ADE) can do all that**, including creating/modifying approaches.

**One exception is the identifier. This topic, at the ADE support forum, will explain- http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17089

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
