Aircraft Name or Thumbnail Problem

Postby Guymed » Tue Feb 16, 2010 2:51 pm

Hi. This is my first post, but I am not a FSX newbie. I'm having a problem with the FSX aircraft selection menu. It appears that ever since I install a certain aircraft, the names of aircraft move over one. As a result, if I click the OV-10 thumbnail, I get a B-2. It says B-2 under the thumbnail, but I want the thumbnails to match the planes. And, it's making me loose some of my aircraft. Anyone know how to fix this?

It's because one of your planes is missing his thumbnails.
Most likely the plane at which the "shift" begins in the list :)

It started at the first Mooney Bravo (Dark Blue and White), but none of my aircraft are missing thumbnails.

You are definitely missing a thumbnail, or two or three. ([edit]OOPS! Just reread and saw it's only one)

Open up "My Computer" then drill through the FSX location, then the "SimObjects", then airplanes......look through all of the texture files to see which are missing thumbs.

I had this problem way back when I installed some FS'04 planes in FSX.

Then all ya need to do is take a screenshot, downsize to small-ish, plunk it in the texture folder and name it "thumbnail".

Ohh... I am so dumb. I forgot to remove a not-working FS2004 plane, and because it wasn't showing up... it caused the problem. Thanks for telling me to check all my planes, because I would of never known it was still there unless I thoroughly searched it.
