I found the FSX.bak and deleted it, then I made the fsx cfg fsx.bak

it said it already exists
the FSX cfg, on the screen it just says fsx, but it is a cfg, also there is a text document titled fsx.cfg but when I click on it it is a cfg

The one that says fsx is fsx.cfg. If it's already backed up rename it to something else like fsx.cfg.bak. Alternatively you could move it to another location like your desktop.

Do NOT delete anything else.

So did you try starting FSX?

Please slow down. You're making my head spin. LOL The only thing you make in a hurry is a mistake. Grumpy's Law.

The text file you can see named fsx.cfg is actually named fsx.cfg.txt. To see files with their full extensions you need to change the settings from Folder Options.

If you're positive it's the correct file rename it to anything you like. Then try running FSX.

Yes. Alternatively move the file to your desktop. That might be the best idea.

As I said earlier it was worth a try. Please put everything back as it was.

take a screenshot of the error message ITSELF.

hit PRNT SCRN / SYSRQ key.  Open MSPaint.  Click EDIT > PASTE.

Click File > SAVE AS > (name it): ERROR1

come back here, click on the UPLOAD IMAGES tab, then go to where the ERROR1 picture is stored, and put it in.

When it gives you the HTTP:// link for your picture, put that in this thread so that we can SEE your error message.

That will help us determine what has gone wrong.

What was the last 5 things, Freeware or PAYWARE that you installed??? Weather? Planes, Scenery... anything. WHAT WAS IT??  --- also, what is the links that you get the files from?  We need that too so that we can go look and see if anything is messed up with the files.

one of the downloads was probably messed up and now your FS is messed up.
