IF I'm reading you correctly, I think what you are saying is; even thoe your not in a certain area does that mean your sim is running slower? Example: if I'm flying in North America, does having South America scenery on, affect my performance in N. America. From my experience NO. What will make your sim run slower is the amount of scenery you see at the moment, such as in big cities, lots of clouds, and how much traffic you have. But if you want your sim to start up faster, I've notice that the less stuff that has to be loaded gets the sim started pretty quick. So what I do is, I will uncheck the places that I won't be going to: If i'm flying in N. America, I'll have all the other continents checked off. As far as Add-ons go, depending how heavlly detailed the add on is can effect your speed.
