I know :)
I was planning to buy Raptor but for some time now I'm reading around that Black has similar performances because high areal density or something like that. So, I'll probably go with that one, 1,7GB more space  ;)

Good - and you can save some money too!

I've been following this discussion on another forum:

http://forums1.avsim.net/index.phpshowt ... 0561&st=0I

Interesting perspectives I think...

- and here's a test:

Maybe I'll get these darn illusive +50 FPS soon.

I don't quite know how to explain it, but I'm having FSX stop for split seconds and run smooth in between that. How do I fix this?

I think that might be the Hard Drive.

Oh yes, I also have target framerate locked at 30, because I get stutters if set to unlimited because this fluctuating thing and i7 (jumping from 20 to 60 for example). When I lock them it's smooth, no stutters.

I suspect we probably get similar performance on a single screen, except that my wide angle view costs me at least 10 fps...so in your worst case scenario, with sliders maxxed, if you get about 19, I would get about 10.

Well I have environments, land mesh enhancements hd aircraft and hd clouds and run most settings full right except traffic, half way for those, 32 bit system so no dx10 but she flys smooth as glass.
Am I missing something here? I have a 32 bit OS and DX-10 runs fine. :-?

You are required to have DX10 or later compatible hardware as well as Windows Vista or Windows 7 to be able to access the Direct X 10 Preview mode in MSFS.

32 bit / 64 bit makes no difference in this regard.

But seriously, try not to aim for super-high framerates because they more often than not can cause the terrain engine to fall behind leading to bad looking terrain.

Why I get 50+ FPS in FSX, and you might not!'

LOL

Because I set up my system with low quality settings that makes FSX look like FS9, and! I know nothing about hardware at all!

is what that should say

Yeah, you're right, but Mathijs has a profitable software bizness selling "Frame-Heavy" add-ons to FSX-Game-Kids, and he's getting rich, very, very rich... There's the sportscars and the chateau in France and so on and on...

I've been following the discussion over at Aerosoft, and I must admit that I thought this guy had some new and fresh ideas, but to my

There was a guy who is scrapping his Nvidia 8800 card and buying this ATI 4650 something...

LMAO.

Maybe he should scrap the 4650 for a 3dfx Voodoo III?
