There are bad news unfortunately.
A stupid pirate did destroy the Mirage website. Since the Mirage is not available from anywhere else, we have to wait for Rollus to propose a solution.
Until then, nobody will be able to download this plane.

Didn't anyone learn a thing from the avsim hack?

This is yet one more example of how being exclusive with your work is stupid, and more costly in the long run.

Even if he only made it for himself, he still put it out there for the public to enjoy and discuss, and then made it to where only a few would be able to enjoy what is possibly the greatest freeware, fighter out there. It's kind of like torture in a way, for us who enjoy quality work such as that, but can't really afford the nice payware stuff.

Now, due to inevitable actions by those more bored than most, no one can have it.  :'(

I understand it's the intellectual property of the creator, but if you're going to put it out on the web, at least make sure it isn't so easily wiped out.  ::)

Best of luck to him. (I'm glad I pay attention to the screen shot sections here, best source of info for new addons, anywhere! Got my copy of the Mirage when it was first posted here. 8-) )

Yeah I agree it's really hard to understand why he refused to put his Mirage on thrusted sites like Simviation or SimOuthouse... well, obviously he had his reasons.

For information, in case anybody of you would think about uploading the files to any server: DO NOT UPLOAD THE MIRAGE ANYWHERE !

There has been a little scandal just two days ago, a member of the rikooo forum uploaded the file and provided a link, without the consent of Rollus. The adminis and moderators had to remove the stuff. The reaction was a little bit exagerated though: the member only wanted to help the rest of the community, but his action was mostly percieved as pure piracy.

So guys, do not upload the package anywhere else, and do not ask for links. There are none. Let's wait for Rollus himself to provide a solution.

I'm a designer by profession so I understand what intellectual property is all about.
But I don't understand the purpose of all this about Mirage. If you decide something is free, let it be free for all. What's the purpose of saying something is free and than making it impossible for people to get? For free. Or buy. For money. At all.
I don't see "the logic" behind that.
Of course, the author can do whatever with his/her stuff, I'm not disputing this fact.

Hey Daube, is that Mirage the one that is difficult to start and the readme is in French? If it is, yes, it is an excellent aircraft, once you figure out how to get it started! lol May need an interpreter lol.
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

It may be the one. The startup sequence is quite long, and I haven't found the courage to go through it yet. As a consequence, I do not have a single minute of flight with this baby in my logbook yet :/
You can't miss it anyway, it's the one and ONLY FSX native mirage available. It's also the only single-seat Mirage 2000 with a virtual cockpit.

All the other Mirage models, by Rollus (Mirage 2000-N and Mirage IV) or anybody else, are FS9 models (no bumpmaps, no self shadows, no DX10 compatiility and a small performance impact).

Well, technically, the plane WAS available to anybody.
Anybody could register to Rollus's site and download, before the monthly bandwith limit was hit. Then you would have to wait for the beginning of the next month.
It's the recent pirating that made it definitely unavailable.

Yup Im pretty certain this is the same one I am thinking of. I did have to go to a site and register to get it. But at the time it was very new and I got it right away. Beautiful aircraft and a joy to fly.... once you get it started! lol.

Found a post of mine with some shots of it;

I don't know about which would be the most intricate etc in the FREEWARE department, but if you want a helluva ride and More Real Than you can imagine, go have a 'gander' at the A2A Piper J3 Cub (with Accu-Sim) from PC Aviator or from A2A Simulations themselves.
Phew!!! For such a simple little aircraft, there's sooooo much reality programmed into that software (Accu-Sim) that you'll REALLY be impressed; That is unless you're the PS3, Xbox-type gamer and like "Shootem up games"  :P :o :(

A2A also has a Boeing 377 and a P47 Thunderbolt "Razorback" also with "Accu-Sim" and i can't speak for those two though.
Accu-Sim is so real that you actually can "Air Start" the prop, Ice up the Carb on 'throttleback' and even the "whiskey compass" floats and wobbles like the real one!!!  ;D
Squeeks and rattles, rushing air and vibrations are all added into the software and trust me; to steal Microsoft's slogan... "Accu-Sim, REALLY IS AS REAL AS IT GETS."

Cheers and Happy New Year to all.

You can find it on Rollus site, which is unavailable for the moment, so you have to wait. There are no other links.

I don't have the files and I seems that this Rollus guy is the only one who can give it to you.

The website is back up running again and I'm downloading the plane right now!

There's a warning (- in French) that if the website is hacked again, he wil remove it completely.

403.6 Mb freeware, awsome... :D

Now I just hope I can start the darn thang!
