Scenery is "flashing" or "flickering"...

Postby CDreier » Sun Dec 27, 2009 7:48 pm

New FSX install and I'm getting "flashing" that almost looks like lightning while rolling for takeoff.  This flicker can also be seen when panning outside the aircraft.  I'm using Nick's setup, including nHancer's.  This is something I've never experienced before and any suggestions as to how to eliminate the problem would be appreciated.  Thanks.

it's in the display settings of FSX, but you may not have it as your card may not support DX10, although looking at your rig, I'd be surprised if it didn't. But I dont know too much about hardware so forgive me if I'm incorrect.

There it was, right in front of me!   :)  Anyway, nope, it's not enabled so it must be something else?

that's about as far as my help goes. I have issues with flickering taxiways with DX10 preview enabled so thought that might be it. you may want to do some research on what drivers are best for your graphics card and FSX

If you're not already using them, try the 182.50 drivers. ;)

I run a GTX 260/216 and these have been the best drivers so far for me. They work for Stalker also.
I try all of the new ones that come out but I keep going back to these.

If it's the same kind of flashing that I am thinking about, having "cockpit tool tips" enabled used to cause that for me. I disabled it, and no more flashes.

Hi

Have you tried turning off Vsync in the NV Control Panel?
That fixed it for me a while back.
