Is there an ATC Voicepack SDK for FSX? Or does the one for FS9 work with it?

If you have an edited FS9 voicepack (USEnglishBig.gvp) it will work in FSX.

To edit the FSX voicepack, use EditVoicePack X 4.0-http://www.editvoicepack.com/

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Considering that there are 20 thousand + WAV files associated with the
FS9/FSX voicepacks, you'll have one heck of a time re-recording them.
In fact, I waould say it is not possible.

The ATC phrases that one edits are made up up snippets of
the various existing sound samples, cut & pasted together to for a new phrase.

Were it a simple matter, we would have voicepacks in various dialects and
accents to choose from.

I tried the latest version of Editvoicepack with no success. It was asking for XP updates that I didn't have. When I downloaded the updates it still wouldn't work. My flight sim computer is not connected to the internet to keep it running smooth without any extra stuff.
You say that an earlier version would work for FSX. I will try that. I am not looking to edit but just to add more airlines and airport names to my current ATC library.

Hi westdside, you need the latest Beta ver of EVP, it works fine, and I dont undertsand why not connecting your pc to the internet should make a difference. My machie is always connected to the internet, I just make sure that all those sneaky porgs that are installed that want to auto update are disabled , except for AVG which updtates at startup.     IT should really make no difference.

Hi Folks

Just for info -
EVP is no longer a beta.
EVP 4 final was released 06/09/2009.

westside -
Check whether there are still any updates outstanding.
Some require the initial version to be installed,
before it will download and install further updates.

Once all updates are installed
repairing/reinstalling EVP
should cause EVP to recognise the .NET versions,
and should subsequently work.

Any further problems,
please read the posts over at the EVP forum

If they don't help,
then post your query there.
Lars is a most helpful chap.
