WHO uses Dual Monitors???

Postby grizzard » Sun Dec 13, 2009 9:48 am

To those who have dual setups for FSX ....  do you like it, or do you NOT like it?  I'm considering but I don't know the pros and cons yet ..... and it would be nice to know that before I commit.

i have FSX on my laptop and use my desktop monitor sometimes. i fly in spot view about 90% of the time and put the GPS, radio stack, ATC and other useful panels on the second screen. it works pretty good for me, though it does take some getting used to when using the mouse

I have more than one monitor and it is great. Get a separate video card for each one and it will help alot. I have a Matrox triple head with three 22" monitors on my main view and three 17" monitors for my instruments. It has been running great for the last 6 months.

Thanks guys.  Which display method do you like best .... the "Clone" or the "Full Screen" (stretched across both monitors).

I have a second 19" monitor that I undock the cockpit control panel to below the upper scenary 28" monitor.

The second monitor has a ProPit mask over the cockpit control panel which is connected to the box by way of USB port.  The mask provides actual knobs that are used to do panel work while flying.

This setup is the closest to the real deal that I could find that allows me to practice when I am down from flying the real plane duuring the summer and fall.
