Service Pack 2

FSX including FSX Steam version.

Service Pack 2

Postby Thud » Sat Dec 05, 2009 9:37 pm

OK, I just installed the FSX Service Pack 2 and when I launch FSX, this message comes up:
This graphics card does not meet minimum requirements for shader support.  This product requires a geForce3/Radeon8500 class or better graphics card
Flight Simulator will now exit.

What do I do?
A guy on another forum suggested that I re-install FSX. But is that really necessary?

It says so because you most-likely have an integrated graphic card, not a real one.
Because of that, the SP2 will refuse to work.
The only solutions are the followings:
- uninstall SP2, stay with SP1 only
- buy a real graphic card.
Buying a real graphic card is not a good solution however. If you have an integrated graphic card, that probably means that your computer is very old, or not powerfull, or not meant for video games anyway.

Well I haven't bought anything for the computer, I got it less than a year ago.
UPDATE: I just deleted SP2 and I still have the same problem.
So I guess I need a better grapics card...
Any suggestions?

UPDATE: I just got rid of both SP1 & 2 but I still have the problem. BTW, SP1 said that it automaticly put itself in the right place. And I do notice a few extra folder in the FSX main folder.

I run an Intel Pentium 4 3.4 ghz integrated with a Radeon X1550 graphic card with SP2 and have had no problems yet.
