Night Vision! Finally!

Postby BrandonF » Tue Oct 27, 2009 7:43 pm

Download it here. It isn't perfect, but it is just right for those who want to land on an aircraft carrier in the middle of the night. I found the download link on the Hovercontrol.com forums. The person who found it did not put the name of the developer, not even where they found it. But hey, it works and hasn't caused me any issues!

Its missing a couple important aspects of night vision, such as a narrow field of vision and a smaller field of focus. It also seems that if there is no ambient light, it should be darker, especially the ground. Also, you shouldn't be able to see so far...

Don't forget the head splitting headaches and the vision altering side effects from wearing NVGs for hours and hours... ;D

Shouldn't there also be "sparkles" from cosmic rays, or is that only if you have the gain/sensativity turned up too high?

I know a pilot from the San Diego County Sheriff's Department and he invited me down to the hanger where they keep their helicopters. He let me try on a pair of night vision goggles. It was awesome! And yeah Boikat, you're right. There should be little sparkles. I saw this when I was wearing the night vision goggles. It looked like stars were floating around everywhere!  :D

I agree, but for a simulation it's pretty sweet!

There's nothing like wearing NVG's for 6-10 hours, taking them off, and you're vision is still green.... ;D

I hate when people upload files to sites like that. I prefer MediaFire.com.

It happened to me a couple times after long night patrols. It only lasted a short moment, but it was a little trippy.

Wasn't the only weird illusion I saw when tired...lol ;D
