How do I permanently set my view slightly higher in 737 virtual cockpit?

Postby Tech Diver » Mon Nov 02, 2009 12:58 pm

I know that using Shift+Enter I can raise my eye. However, I hate having to do so every time I get in the cockpit of a 737. Is there is file I can edit that will set this? I looked at aircraft.cfg but did not see the pilot seat view. Any help would be appreciated.

If you look in the aircraft CFG file and find the Views header, there is an Eyepoint variable with set of coordinates. Try adjusting those numbers one by one to see which is what.

Ohh ... neat.  Now in my JS4100 (and in most of my planes) I would like the 1st view in VC not to be 10" in front of the dash .. I always have to zoom backwards.  Can I change my eyepoint to reflect this?  My config looks like this:  eyepoint = 21.051,-1.21,3.44  I'm assuming that to be two settings but not sure which numbers to change ...  :-/

start with 1 set of numbers (WRITE DOWN THE ORIGINAL NUMBERS FOR SAFE KEEPING that way you can go back to them later if you get too far from what they were).... go up 5 numbers 1 increment at a time, then back down 5 from the original number.

go to the next set, and do the same.

3rd set same.

Does any one know the set standard for how much you would need to add to the eyepoints coordinates to raise the seat once, or move it to the left, ect.

Basically, Shift + Enter = .10.

Thanks,

And just to be clear, do you mean 0.50 or 0.05?

Also, does the same aply for Ctrl + Shift + Backspace, ect.

Thanks guys ..... I think I've got it now. If I've got it right the first set of numbers on my JS4100 will adjust front to rear,  but for my Cheyenne it was the 3rd set.  Seems odd they would be different, but .... that's what my scrnprints show.  I'll reaffirm when I fly a little more ....
