FSX demo time limit cookie

Hi all, after enjoying FSX for 6 months, suddenly out of the blue ( no pun intended ) I am getting a cookie while playing stating,
" Thank you for trying microsoft (R) flight simulator X.
The demo time limit has expired and FS will now shut down."
My only option is to select the OK tab. ( and it shuts down!)
Has anyone else had this problem and is there a fix.

I'm guessing that you are either playing just the demo version, or the activation key has not yet been inserted.

Are you asked to register the game when you start it up?

This problem occurs normally after you have installed FSX and have not activated it with your key. If you have, then reinstall it and re activate it.

No I'm not asked to register when I start up, and when I installed FTX I registered using the key.
Its just something thats happened in the last few days.
I am a bit loathe to reinstall as I have a lot of extras now added on.

I had this same difficulty a few months back, along with NOT wanting to uninstall for fear of losing all my downloaded extras.

But, I saved all of my extras on a few flashdrives and uninstalled/reinstalled FSX & Acceleration.
