I am pretty sure we have a file here where someone put the default 737 VC into the default MD-80. Browsing through the pages right now. Will report back if found.

EDIT: Found it, bottom of this page:

How do you switch VCs?

Check this out:

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showth ... t=17996209

You can use it for any plane with an FSX MODEL or MODEL UPDATE. Will NOT work with planes with a FS2004 or earlier model.

8-)

To expand on B-balv's statement.

With the FS-X SDK tools, the builder can choose to create a VC as a separate mdl file  (or he can still choose NOT to create a VC at all and still create an exterior, no internal cockpit model)

In that case, the interior and exterior models are "named" in the model.cfg file.  It is in that file that you can "copy" the _INTERIOR model from another model into the desired model.

HOWEVER:

Not all VC are created equal,  i,e... try putting the cessna 172 VV in a 747 (to say an extreme)  Chances are you'll be WAAAAY above th eVC and will have to look down to see it.

If your VC model has modeled gauges ....  they may show up but may not work correctly.

etc.

etc

Then, some developers don't like your using VCs other than their own, and if you try to do it, the model won't "work".

So, it CAN be done, but it sometimes isn't that easy.
