Improper display

Postby Joenavy85 » Sun Sep 27, 2009 9:27 am

i have a FS2004 OV-10D Bronco that i use on FSX. my problem is that when i fly it, it only displays on a little over half of the screen. Does anybody know how to fix this, or is my only option having to deal with it. i'm guessing that it's because of some sort of FS2004/FSX compatibility issues.

Open your "panel" folder, thenopen your "panel.cfg"  You should see a line "render_3d_window=X"  The "X" is going to be a 0 or a 1.  Change it to whatever it's not.  I don't recall off the top of my head, but I think it should be a "1".

Something else to try real quick is to see if the bottom of the view can be "grabbed" by the mouse, and pulled down to fill your screen.  Some times that works too.

Awesome, that fixed it, in all views. do you happen to know how to change the default aircraft and airport? as in the ones that it starts with when you first start FSX

Just go to the selection page, pick your aircraft and airport, and save it as your default flight by clicking the "save" button, and giving it a name and checking the "make this the default flght" box on the bottom left.

Although your problems have been fixed, I'm sure you'll be happy to learn that the Bronco exists in real native FSX SP2 format. Tim Conrad (Piglet) has rebuilt it from scratch to make it a real FSX plane. You can find it here:

It looks a little bit better than the FS9 version, and you won't have any display issues with the props in front of the autogen or clouds or stuff like that. And you will get better frame rates ;)
