Hi Nick, You gave a great reply abt Windows 7, I was wondering if you have had a chance to look at the latest O&O release called Defrag 12, and have recommendations? Tnx for all the great work,  Skip

No time to test it right now.. when I do I will post the results and how to use it

I know there are new features with it.. however the software should still be used just like v8.6 or v11

One of the new features which allows moving specified directories and files on the disk can be beneficial IF you know what you are doing  AND you have the right HDD setup in the system the feature will take advantage of.. otherwise you can make things WORSE.


Its just like the software title Ultimate Defrag.. that software can make a system run worse if you do not know excatly what you are doing with it and most people do not.. they trust the "one button high performance" auto mode to do it for them and that DOESNT work   ;)


Even with those new features I do not see the software making much of any increase in performance.. a defrag is a defrag if its the right type of defrag and its performed correctly the perf is not going to change that much for the better.
