Ive tried fsx when it 1st came out, it didnt run well, poor quality, and it studdered. Someone told me to chekc it out agian.. what is Accelerate? and ive looked around for mods (scenery, ect).. they are 100kb and 3 mb files... dosnet seem to impress me that much. Is there a massive patch that will make fsx full of all the recent add ons?
I checked microsoft website and they havent updated in years. so is this sim dead already?

So far as I've seen, how well FSX runs depends on your system. If you tried FSX when it first came out, and it was poor quality and stuttery then, it will be now, unless you have a better computer or a better graphics card. So if you still have issues with "poor quality" I suspect your computer or your graphics card is the problem. (Just looking at a few screen shots in the Graphics forums will show you that much)
Acceleration adds some features and aircraft, and I believe service pack 1 and 2,. There is no "massive patch" that adds on all the add-ons, which would be several tens of gigabytes in size. With he exception of Acceleration, the vast majority of add-ons are independetly created by individuals, so even if MS wanted to they would not be able to keep track of them all, much less consolidate them into add-on packages.
As far as the sim being dead: Not a chance. No more so thn FS9 being "dead", and both have plenty of life left in them. M$ may have discontinued the FS series after they closed the ACES studios, but that's just means the apron strings are cut. I believe MS still has assistence available though, since there have been a few relatively recent posts where people have called them for assistance in registering FSX, and received it.
