Everything was fine and dandy after the reinstall until the msvcr80.dll occurred again. I'm SO frustrated right now, anyone have any idea on how to fix it?

Here's the event log entry:

Event Type: Error

A quick Google search turned up this thread:

http://flyawaysimulation.com/postt29925.html

He says MS support told him he needed .NET 2.0 installed.

Hi Folks

usapatriot -
Load the F/A 18 -
Start the engines, but do not fly.

Play with the panels,
try to replicate what you were doing last time.

Does it CTD ?

Look at your eventlog
Post the error details from your last FSX session.

List the foldernames found in -
Code: Select all
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\

Expecting 5 off folders.
SBQ beat me to asking.     ;D

Post your dll.xml, from -
Code: Select all
C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX\dll.xml

I'm running mine on a laptop and I'm satisfied with my frames. 30-40fps on less detailed areas or high altitude, 10-20 inside payware airports. All using payware planes.

Well, like Nick said, its not about the frames. But that's what I get when my system is configured correctly and all softwares/add-ons installed meticulously. ;)

I'm sure yours will do fine! ;)

Hi Folks

usapatriot -
No worries.

Ok, they look fine.

Still need answers/info for -
Load the F/A 18 -
Start the engines, but do not fly.

Play with the panels,
try to replicate what you were doing last time.

Does it CTD ?

Look at your eventlog
Post the error details from your last FSX session.

As your previously posted crashinfo
indicates you were using the old dll version v3053
and not the expected corrected version v3079, (or later).

Yeap, it's a shame how FSX runs on a 5yearold Dell2400, 2.2GHz., 1.00GB of RAM, 9250 ATI G-card, and a 5$ Duracraft fan (from Wal-mart) to keep it from meltdown, The compression on this pic doesn't do it justis, full blown the detail is outstanding.

Right you are sir! Entering into the FSX world, can be frustrating. But once you get the bugs out of your system and things in order it is totally the next best thing to real flight.  :)

In some ways I'm glad MS has stopped for a moment to let us all catch up on this FS thing.

And while you can run it fairly well on an average system there is no denying you need a bit of horsepower.

It also reminds of a starter kit(or drugs--"the first hit's free kid, after that ya gotta pay")much like train sets used to be. You bought the oval track and one Loco, two carriages,a caboose and went from there. And you paid for the upgrades.

So after all these years and money I've hung in long enough and paid bit by bit, item by item to get to a point where I am really enjoying the experience.

Let's hope we have time to catch our breathe before it all changes again, although the quality and amount of payware out there and the effort put into producing some spectacular stuff might suggest we'll have time to build our 'Train' set.

Red on White you're alright.

I have had my fair share of problems with FSX but most of the problems have been caused by me. I am constantly messing with hardware, software, addons and tweeks all in the name of making the experience better. I am currently running a two seat jetsim pit with duel controls. Right now it is working great but that all could change tomorrow. FSX is not a piece of !@#$ !

The FS logbook is a joke. I've been logging my flight time in seperate spreadsheet files ever since the FS95 logbook crapped out on me 14 years ago... ;D

Ive been logging mine when I started FSX because mine didnt work and for the reason that when I was testing an airplane to see its panel it marked down as hours or if I just took off to see how it was that was time too.
