Rest assured, that any model coming from me claiming to be Native FSX, is  100%  FSX compatible..

Now, for example, the C310 goes a step further..  High-res textures and  EVERY texturing option available to the FSX modeler. If you aren't running FSX at SP2,  AND  using a newer, high-end v-card..  THAT will be the problem.

I'm not having any performance problems at all. So anyways, today I installed Acceleration and on one specific flight with the P-51 out of KOPF I experienced graphics corruption/artifacting, does anyone know why this occurs?

Do you have a bufferpools entry in the .cfg? If it's too high or if it doesn't even need to be there, it will cause such things. If not, you might want to check your gpu temps when it happens. Make sure you're in the newest drivers ;)

I recently went back to FS9 and decided I couldn't look back.

FSX has me in its thrall. Sorry--I LIKE IT.

My system should run it without Nick's tweaks and it does.

My latest toying around has come up with CPU temperature as a look at.

Sorry to hear that your having a bad experience, I was pretty pissed off too when I got FSX and couldn't get it to work out of the box, especially after using FS9 for 2 1/2 years. As of right now I'm only able to use FSX sp1 ( got Accel on the sideline for when I get a better PC ), but because of this website, I was able to learn how to get my system to run FSX, ( special THANKS to NickN and every one else on this site for the tips and the knowhow ) and now I really enjoy it cause it runs so smooth.

I hope now I didn't jinx myself ;D ;D

Yeah lets hope not. On my FSX back then I had unlocked 25 hours then never had anything else unlocked. ::) :-/
I most likely would have been over 250 but not over 500.

I wish the FSX logbook worked like the FS9 logbook -- where you can decide whether you want to add the time flown to the logbook. I have so many pointless hours in my FSX logbook due to time tweaking and testing... ;D

The FS logbook is a joke. I've been logging my flight time in seperate spreadsheet files ever since the FS95 logbook crapped out on me 14 years ago... ;D

Everything was fine and dandy after the reinstall until the msvcr80.dll occurred again. I'm SO frustrated right now, anyone have any idea on how to fix it?

Here's the event log entry:

Try downloading a new one. Search for it on Google and replace the one FSX uses with the new one... Make sure you back up though!

I LOVE FSX - much better than FS 2004 - and give it acceleration - and it is superb. FSX rules ! I can well understand Microsoft not wishing to make further improvements. Further tweeks simply splinter the fs community. Just bolt on futher addons when peoples computers catch up .

Please don't !

Regarding DLLs
Do not download an dlls from the various dll sites.
Do not place dlls in your system or system32 folder.

XP, Vista, & Win7 do not work like Win9x.

MSVCR80.dll is a component of the MS C Runtime Libraries.
These are .NET components, held in the WinSxS assemblies folders.
Applications use the latest versions installed, (unless explicilty told otherwise).

These must be installed using their installers,
as they consist of multiple files, and folders.
e.g. dlls, manifests, policies, etc.

Issue is now at -

Has anyone had any problems with the F-18's flaps getting jammed or functioning on their own? I was doing a NASA flight at 50k feet when the flaps jammed and stalled my plane, I couldn't unjam them no matter what I did and had to fly back to the airport at low altitude.

Hi Folks

usapatriot -
Not sure about the 'permanent' jamming yu've described.

ISTR flap deployment is automatic at low speed and AOA.
(Within constraints of FSX mechanism).

Could it be you'd run out of either -
- momentum in a climb ?
- fuel ?

High AOA, or hard-turns, will result in rapid and intense energy bleed.

See the FSX Learning Center - Boeing F/A-18 Hornet - Flight Notes

There's also a manual somewhere over at FSDreamTeam

I was a 50,000feet going at approximately Mach 0.99, I think that's pretty fast, no idea why they deployed.
