Sorry to hear that your having a bad experience, I was pretty pissed off too when I got FSX and couldn't get it to work out of the box, especially after using FS9 for 2 1/2 years. As of right now I'm only able to use FSX sp1 ( got Accel on the sideline for when I get a better PC ), but because of this website, I was able to learn how to get my system to run FSX, ( special THANKS to NickN and every one else on this site for the tips and the knowhow ) and now I really enjoy it cause it runs so smooth.
I hope now I didn't jinx myself![]()

Try downloading a new one.
Search for it on Google
and replace the one FSX uses with the new one...
Make sure you back up though!

Hi Folks
usapatriot -
Not sure about the 'permanent' jamming yu've described.
ISTR flap deployment is automatic at low speed and AOA.
(Within constraints of FSX mechanism).
Could it be you'd run out of either -
- momentum in a climb ?
- fuel ?
High AOA, or hard-turns, will result in rapid and intense energy bleed.
See the FSX Learning Center - Boeing F/A-18 Hornet - Flight Notes
There's also a manual somewhere over at FSDreamTeam
