default 747 ruined

Hi, I was trying to install some textures etc for FSX default 747-400 and finally damaged the plane. I did not do anything wrong. It is not only the texture which looks wrong (black spots transparend body etc) but also the plane airdynamics is damaged. Even at the speed of 250knots it will not take off.

Can anybody give me directions of how I could restore the default plane? (My original installation DVDs are left in my home country, i am overseas)

Sorry to hear of your problem. If the file came from here can you please tell me what file it was?

The most likely cause of your problem is in editing Aircraft.cfg to add the new variation. Many people make mistakes the first time they try it.

It's a bit late now but to avoid this happening in future please take a backup copy of any file you intend editing BEFORE attempting to edit it. Then if you make a mistake it's easy to revert to the original file.

No, I don't think the file comes from here. Downloaded one zip file from flightsim.com with around 20 textures for 747-400. Then I decided to delete the default textures like world travel and orbit (as i don't use them), to save some space. Edited properly cgf file and got a surprise(((

What i need is a complete jumbo pack no matter which texture it comes with.

I got one file from simviation and will try this evenin when i reach home.

or, alternatively, i would appreciate if someone zipps and sends me the default 747-400 from original FSX-Gold.

Hi guys,

i dowloaded this file from simviation: fly-747-.zip and it works perfect. This "vitaminised" 747-400 is even better than the original one that i spoiled and speed acceleration is fantastic. U can take of from any short runway in no time. BA, Qantas and smth else textures included.
