can fs2004 sceneries be used in FSX?

Mostly no.

Some that say they can be used in both versions sometimes reveals a bug in one version or the other when installed. FSX just has too much that FS9 does not. Try out some of the sceneries that are labeled for both and see for yourself. ;)
