Goose Flight Dynamics

Postby PerrierBaroudeur » Sat Jul 04, 2009 6:05 pm

Ever since installing the OZX Goose Redux package, my default Goose has flown... weirdly, at least in my opinion. Maybe it's more realistic, but I've never flown a real Goose and I preferred the old dynamics in the sim.

Short of a reinstall, is there anything I can do to get my old dynamics back? I'm not really sure how it works, but if the dynamics are controlled by the aircraft.cfg, could someone post that section of it here, or PM it to me?

The Flight Dynamics are often a combination of what is in the .air file and what is in the aircraft.cfg file.

Did you not back up the default Grumman Goose folder prior to installing the new Goose package?  I am pretty sure the instructions reminded folks to do that.

You may be able to restore the default Goose by running th "repair" option from the FSX install disk.

I dowloaded it too...

Can you check and see if your install has a problematic 'Fuel and Payload' screen ?

I'm working on the flight dynamics..   there are some glaring errors.. I might just go back to the defaul air/cfg files.. but if I get this working, I'll let ya know..

Yeah, it definitely does -- it starts out 26 pounds overweight, but according to the payload manager, the plane is only carrying 30 pounds of payload. So, with 100% fuel, the plane allegedly has 4 pounds of payload capacity.

I'm glad to see there's an expert working on this... good luck with the solution

Indeed, they told something about backup first orginals

My favorite could be somewhere between the orginal and the redux.
I like the new effects and how the redux is laying deep in the water also I prefer the stabilyty and horsepower of the orginal.
Thy also didn't fixed the Goose - Light - Bug in the Model and my modding ability is a little bit poor so I think I have to

push Brett

a little bit. ;)

I've got a reworked cgf file... and a gauge modification (part of the re-work includes 110 gallon tanks, hence a modded fuel gauge).. including a hi-res re-do of the DC3 airspeed indicator (the Goose ASI reads in MPH instead of knots)..

The loading and fuel are now correct.. I'm pretty happy with it.

They announced that there will be a patch out soon.. mean-time, I'll keep testing my mod, and upload it eventually  :)
