Problem with the autopilot system

Postby House3988 » Tue Jun 30, 2009 8:16 am

Why does my plane's nose keep on pointing up and down up and down once it reached the altitude i set using the auto pilot and once i tried to turn it off during this strange behavior, the plane climbed violently all of a sudden to 90,000 feet and started to spin out of control (turning upside down and all sort of acrobatic like stunts very very quickly) after the climb. Please help.

Hi there, not sure what you are using for controls joystick or keyboard or what, but if you have a hotas system using joystick, throttle, and rudder pedals, go back in and check all of your controller settings, and make sure you dont have the same control function assigned to 2 different controllers, i have seen this happen before, also one way to check if something strange is happening with the control functions for instance in your case the elevator not working correctly, is go to outside locked spot view and check if all of your controls are working right pull back on your stick to make sure your elevator is going up and down properly and staying in that position when held back, ive had that problem before, good luck regards,Tom
